This phase is designed to first unlock the part of the body that keeps you from freedom of movement: the spine.

Once your body has been reset to be mobile again, we’ll start working on reactivating the foundation of your flexibility focusing on every part of your legs.
Ballet movements are not only statics, the key is to combine strengthening and stretching at the same time.

Meet your teacher

Alessia Lugoboni

Alessia was born in Verona - Italy and loved dancing as a form of expression from an early age.

She has 20+ years of professional ballet experience from training at English National Ballet School and the New Zealand school of dance to her successful career as a ballerina for both The Royal New Zealand Ballet and New English Ballet theatre. She also performed in the West End in Cabaret the Musical with Will Young, Phantom of the Opera, and Most Incredible Thing by Petshop Boys at Sadler’s Wells.

But the world of ballet was not always kind. With so many people watching all the time, Alessia struggled with physical and emotional doubts. But overcoming these is what gave her the power to fully understand her own body. It also led her to create programs like this and bring the true joy of ballet to adult dancers at any level.

Alessia is now the co-founder of Lazy Dancer Tips and Lazy Dancer Studio, the most welcoming and inclusive ballet studio online.

This program will give you a day-by-day routine that progressively conditions your body to reach your full split.

The Ai (Active Isometric) stretching method implemented in small sessions will ease your body into achieving full splits in every position. You’ll be doing just the right amount of daily stretch, to give your body time to adjust and progress naturally.

My method is very simple

We are now aiming for higher and stronger developpe, higher arabesques and achieving stunning extensions, this is the program you need to reach the next level of flexibility.

Series 1 focuses on:


  • Working the key muscles for controlled extension
  • Back alignment and leg strength for arabesque
  • Speed of action and control of movement
  • Strength of quads, core and abs to achieve a high leg in every position 
  • Coordination of the body to ease movement and make it look effortless

Series 2 focuses on:


  • Working on key muscles for arabesque and attitude
  • Posture and mechanics of developpes “devant” and “a la second”
  • Control of the working leg in every position in the air.
  • Turnout during leg extension
  • “Grand rond de jambe” and “développe” turnout
  • Working on muscles involved in a “Penche”

Series 3 focuses on:


  • Controlling arabesque by working on glutes and strengthening                       of core and back.
  • Activate use of abs and obliques to help hold the extension
  • Use of “passe-retire” to ease extension 
  • Leg mount and body weight positioning
