Here’s what the road taught me about a body that never really stops

Wiggles, Playlists & Letting Go

Hello, my wonderful Dancing Spark of Joy!

Iacopo and I have been on the road again.
Leaving the misty quiet (and surprisingly sunny and hot) of the English countryside, and made our long drive south, through fields, forests, motorways, memories … and more than a few playlists.

Sixteen hours of sitting.
Yes, my hips were tight and my back definitely complained
but I couldn’t help myself.

Every time a good song came on, I wiggled...not to mention the singing out loud.

Shoulders bouncing, fingers tapping, bum shimmying in the seat like it needed to remind me:

“We’re still here. We still move. Even when you’re stuck.”

I used to dread this kind of travel.
Now I see it differently.Because there’s something beautiful about watching a landscape change from the window.
The trees shift. The sky opens. Your thoughts get quieter.
Driving across countries is a slow kind of transformation.
No rush. It just unfolds.
Like your body does… if you let it.

If your body’s been curled in on itself at a desk, in a car, or under the weight of a to-do list, try this little ritual:

– Stand tall and reach your arms overhead
– Take the biggest inhale you’ve had all day
– Exhale and fold forward like a rag doll
– Let your spine decompress. Let gravity love you.
– Roll up slowly, then gently swing your arms side to side
– Whisper:

“Thank you for carrying me this far.”

We carry so much, on the road and off it.
But we’re also allowed to shake it out.
To breathe.
To take up space again.

Stop for a second and ask yourself:

What am I ready to let go of as I move forward?

Love from somewhere between UK, France, Switzerland and Italy
